In April of 2018 I took a few days off and treated myself to a trip to Washington D.C. I flew there and took a shuttle to a hotel a couple of blocks from the middle of the national mall. I was able to walk to the mall and rent a bike to explore the monuments, I took a night bike tour which I highly recommend. I spent hours in many of the Smithsonian museums and are museums and really enjoyed them all. I did not know, until I stumbled on them that the cherry blossoms were blooming. It even snowed a bit while I was there. I am missing many of the photos of the art museums, but they have left a lasting impression and I really want to go back and spend more time in them.  If you have a chance, go.
