Mom and my first trip to explore was to Austin to ride the steam train. ​Home - Austin Steam Train Association We took the Hill Country Flyer from Cedar Park, TX to Burnet, TX.  We bought tickets in a club car and had a wonderful time. We could even go stand at the back of the train and watch the scenery and talk to the brakeman. I really enjoyed this trip and would happily do it again. If you can, make a chance to go. Our trip was extra memorable because the train hit the rear end of a car who tried to race it through the crossing. No one seemed to be hurt.
