Caprock Canyon State Park is by far one of my favorites in Texas. I would like to spend a season here. We were here in October 2021. The terrain is rugged but beautiful. There is primitive camping, backpack camping, equestrian camping, lots of hiking on trails that are easy or difficult and they are well marked, lots of day use areas, bison wandering, and prairie dogs by the camping loop. The campsites were partial hookup as are most of the Texas state parks. The restrooms were nice, but could be a walk depending on your site. The sites were well spaced and had covered pavilions. I really enjoyed walking here, but you do have to watch for sandsburs. There are a lot in patches.
