Cleburne State Park is southwest of Fort Worth in Texas. We stayed here in October of 2020. There is a long road winding up the hill that is next to the lake. It goes through the entire park and the campground loops are at the end of the road. This park is very popular for mountain biking and fishing. Our campsite was backed up to a creek which was nice. Across the creek were the cabins. I enjoyed laying in my hammock reading and listening to the kids playing. It sounded like they were swimming. I also listened to two dads talking. Evidently there are some easy mountain bike trails for kids and more challenging ones the adults enjoy. I have never mountain biked, I just walk the trails. I liked the scenery on the trails. The juniper trees were like sculptures and when I could see the lake it was pretty. I did not like walking on the rocks though. I had to watch my feet. This park is a good place to hang out if you enjoy an active lifestyle.
