Lake Colorado City State Park is near Colorado City Texas off of I20 about halfway between Dallas and New Mexico. It is a state park on a lake with lots of boating and fishing opportunities. When we were there, access to the lake was closed because of an algae bloom. There is a power plant in view across the lake and you can hear the buzz of power lines when you are near them. This is a beautiful but rugged shoreline with high rocks except where they have planned access. The trails are rocky which makes them interesting, but you have to be careful. There were lots of birds.
