Big Thicket National Preserve is in east Texas. It is in a lot of little spots to try to preserve an area with great biological diversity and many rare plants and animals. There is a nature center and a lot of trails scattered throughout its units. We have hikes some and will do more.
Pitcher Plant trail
This is a boardwalk and a wooded path through a marsh and some woods. It is a nice trail.
Birdwatcher Trail
This is a very wooded and brushy area. I went in the summer but wouldn't go back.
Big Sandy trail
I have been on this trail many times but never all the way around. I enjoy this trail a lot.
Beaver Slide trail
This is a short easy trail with some small ponds and beautiful trees.
