Northwest River County Park, Virginia

This is a county park about 20 minutes from Virginia Beach. This park is well used and the rv loop fills up many nights. The tent loop fills on weekends. While we were there, there was even a cub scout group having a campout. Even though the campground was busy, the sites were well wooded and it didn't feel crowded. There were 3 parking areas for day use and an equestrian area with numerous trails. There is good hiking, but it is a little swampy if you don't pick one of the board walk trails. They have boat and bike rentals and a put put golf course. There is one good biking trail. I enjoyed this park. If we ever go back to Virginia Beach, we will stay here again.
