Douthat State Park, Virginia

Douthat State Park is an amazing large park in Virginia. It is in 3 counties. There is a lot to do with 4 campgrounds, cabins, lodges, a store, swimming beach, boat rentals, lodges, many miles of trails to hike on, mountain bike on, and horseback ride on. We spent 2 nights in 2 different campgrounds. Each campground was very different but both were good. I biked most of the length of the park with my electric bike, hiked 2 of the trails, swam in the creek, and really enjoyed this park. Most placed I've stayed I would be good with 3 nights. This place I could easily stay the maximum 14 nights and enjoy every bit. This park is great for exploring. My favorite parts of this park were seeing my first black bear and playing in the creek.
